Part of The Fruit That I’ve Become
A series on origin, self-discovery, and personal history.

This artwork is a collaboration with my parents, who are knitting artists.
It reflects moments of growing up
The bittersweet, the sour, and everything in between.
There were times when I had to part from my family without knowing when we’d meet again.
Like when I left home to study and wander across the world.
Those moments carried a tang, a sting of distance, but also ripened into strength, independence, and love in new forms.

The knit becomes a symbol, that no matter how far I go, their love continues to embrace me, quietly, from a distance… through prayers, through care, through time.

Just like a lemon, it’s zesty, sharp and vibrant. Reminding me that even the sour notes have their place in shaping who I’ve become.
