Amphora III is a continuation of Yessiow’s exploration of vessels as symbols of memory, transformation, and personal history. Painted in vivid gradients of pink, orange, and blue, the amphora is adorned with bold, flowing linework that echoes the artist’s street art roots—depicting abstracted birds and floral forms that reference freedom, flight, and growth.

Surrounding the amphora is a large knitted chain crafted by Yessiow’s parents, a deeply personal and collaborative element of the work. The chain—soft, bright blue, and embracing—acts as a metaphorical tether between artist and home. It embodies the idea that no matter how far she travels, her parents' love and prayers remain wrapped around her, quietly holding her in place. The contrast between the rigid ceramic form and the supple, handmade knit creates a visual and emotional balance between strength and softness, past and present, tradition and personal evolution.

Amphora III is part of The Fruit That I’ve Become, Yessiow’s solo exhibition that weaves together her family’s knitting practice, her street art sensibilities, and her reflections on growth, distance, and identity.
