"Jauh Di Mata, Dekat Di Hati” For Luce Festival Italy

"Jauh Di Mata, Dekat Di Hati"
Luce Festival, San Pietro Magisano, Italy (2024)
The title Jauh Di Mata, Dekat Di Hati translates to “Far from sight, close to our hearts,” a phrase that perfectly captures the feeling behind Yessi’s mural created with Stijn at Luce Festival in San Pietro Magisano, a small village in Southern Italy with just 350 residents.
San Pietro Magisano left a deep impression with its warmth and sense of community. The villagers were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the entire experience even more meaningful. Romano, the wall’s owner, along with his neighbors, went above and beyond to help throughout the process. He even assisted in capturing the final photos of the finished mural, a gesture that reflected the genuine kindness of the people there.
This mural is more than an artwork—it is a tribute to connection, gratitude, and the lasting bonds formed across distance. Just like its title, the piece reminds us that even when people are far away, the memories and emotions shared remain close to the heart.
