"Flexibility" for ibug Festival 2022

"Flexibility"
Ibug Street Art Festival 2022
In August 2022, Yessiow had the opportunity to paint at the Ibug Festival in Flöha, Germany. The festival took place in an old paper mill that had been abandoned for years and gathered more than 20 artists from around the world. It was an exciting experience for Yessiow to be part of such a unique event, sharing her experimental mural process with others.
The factory itself was massive, and it took her four hours to walk around before finding the perfect spot. The building was filled with scattered papers that artists could freely use for their works. The festival team gave complete creative freedom, allowing each artist to explore and experiment. When Yessiow finally found her space, she decided to create a mural that responded to the environment and incorporated elements she discovered inside the factory.
She described the experience as heartfelt and liberating, reflecting the freedom and spontaneity she felt while working on-site. Yessiow expressed deep gratitude to the Ibug team for their generosity, warmth, and hospitality. Painting there, surrounded by inspiring artists and the festival’s raw atmosphere, became one of her most memorable experiences.
