“Vibrant Tapestry” for Calle Libre Festival Austria

"Vibrant Tapestry"
Calle Libre Festival, Vienna, Austria (2024)
Vibrant Tapestry portrays a young girl sheltered beneath a large leaf umbrella, standing inside a giant pot that symbolizes the district’s rich multicultural fabric. The warm tones of purple, green, and orange reflect Ottakring’s diversity and vibrant character. Above the pot, a smaller vessel filled with local produce represents the district’s culinary heritage and everyday life. The mural celebrates Ottakring’s past while embracing its evolving present and hopeful future.
Created for Calle Libre Festival, the experience was filled with connection, laughter, and community. Yessi met incredible people whose positivity and energy shaped the week into something unforgettable. The mural became more than just a visual statement. It was a reflection of the warmth and openness shared by everyone involved.
Special thanks to Laura, Jacob, Rici, Konsti, Nico, and the entire Calle Libre team for organizing such a dynamic festival, and to @koma_pao and Lea Kuhl for capturing the mural beautifully.
