"Daydreamer" Inflatable Installation

2026

Daydreamer Inflatable

Yessiow presents her first large-scale inflatable sculpture, Daydreamer, featuring one of her signature characters, bringing a long-held dream to life and marking an exciting new chapter in her practice. The work transforms a familiar figure from her painted world into an immersive, contemplative yet playful presence in public space.
The Daydreamer sits quietly watching the movement around her. Boats pass by, visitors gather and disperse, conversations overlap, and the city continues its rhythm. Yet she remains still, observing without urgency. Her gaze drifts between what is present and what is possible. She watches the water, wondering where it has been and where it is going next. Like the containers surrounding the site, carrying stories, objects, and journeys from one place to another, she becomes a traveler of thoughts, collecting fragments of the world around her and transforming them into imagination.
Installed at Quai d'Été, the work reflects the transient nature of the waterfront itself. People arrive, stay for a while, and move on. The dreamer does the same. She is neither waiting for something nor escaping from it. She simply occupies a space between observation and imagination, inviting visitors to linger there with her.
